Deuteronomio 4:36-46

36 Él te permitió oír su voz desde el cielo para instruirte. Te permitió ver su fuego poderoso aquí, en la tierra, para hablarte desde allí.

37 Debido a que él amó a tus antepasados, quiso bendecir a sus descendientes, así que él mismo te sacó de Egipto con un gran despliegue de poder.

38 Expulsó a naciones mucho más poderosas que tú para establecerte en la tierra de esas naciones y dártela a ti como preciada posesión, así como sucede hoy.

39 »Entonces recuerda lo siguiente y tenlo siempre presente: el Señor
es Dios en los cielos y en la tierra, y no hay otro.

40 Si obedeces todos los decretos y los mandatos que te entrego hoy, les irá bien en todo a ti y a tus hijos. Te doy estas instrucciones para que disfrutes de una larga vida en la tierra que el Señor
tu Dios te da para siempre».

41 Ciudades de refugio al oriente del Jordán
Luego Moisés apartó tres ciudades de refugio al oriente del río Jordán.

42 Cualquier persona que hubiera matado a otra accidentalmente y sin enemistad previa podía huir a una de esas ciudades para vivir a salvo.

43 Las ciudades eran: Beser, situada en la meseta del desierto, para la tribu de Rubén; Ramot, en Galaad, para la tribu de Gad; y Golán, en Basán, para la tribu de Manasés.

44 Introducción al segundo discurso de Moisés
Este es el conjunto de instrucciones que Moisés presentó a los israelitas:

45 las leyes, los decretos y las ordenanzas que Moisés le dio al pueblo de Israel cuando salieron de Egipto,

46 mientras acampaban en el valle que está cerca de Bet-peor, al oriente del río Jordán. (Anteriormente, en esa tierra habitaban los amorreos bajo el gobierno del rey Sehón, que reinaba desde Hesbón. Pero Moisés y los israelitas lo aniquilaron junto con su pueblo cuando salieron de Egipto.

INTRODUCTION TO DEUTERONOMY 4

This chapter contains an exhortation to Israel to keep the commands, statutes, and judgments of God, urged from the superior excellency of them to those of all other nations, De 4:1-8, from the manner in which they were delivered, out of the midst of fire, by a voice of words, but no similitude seen, De 4:9-15, and particularly the Israelites are cautioned against idolatry, from the consideration of the goodness of God to them, in bringing them out of Egypt, De 4:16-20, and the rather Moses is urgent upon them to be diligent in their obedience to the laws of God, because he should quickly be removed from them, De 4:21-24, and should they be disobedient to them, it would provoke the Lord to destroy them, or to carry them captive into other lands, De 4:25-28 though even then, if they repented and sought the Lord, and became obedient, he would be merciful to them, and not forsake them, De 4:29-31 and they are put in mind again of the amazing things God had done for them, in speaking to them out of fire, and they alive; in bringing them out of another nation, and driving out other nations to make room for them; all which he improves, as so many arguments to move them to obedience to the divine commands, De 4:32-40 and then notice is taken of the three cities of refuge, separated on this side Jordan, De 4:41-43, and the chapter is concluded with observing, that this is the law, and these the testimonies, Moses declared and repeated to the children of Israel in the country of Sihon and Og, who were delivered into their hands, and their lands possessed by them, which laid them under fresh obligations to yield obedience to God, De 4:44-49.
