Eclesiastes 11:1-6

Sábios Conselhos

1 Atire o seu pão sobre as águas,^[a]e depois de muitos dias você tornará a encontrá-lo.

2 Reparta o que você tem com sete, até mesmo com oito,pois você não sabe que desgraça poderá cair sobre a terra.

3 Quando as nuvens estão cheias de água,derramam chuva sobre a terra.Quer uma árvore caia para o sul quer para o norte,onde cair ficará.

4 Quem fica observando o vento não plantará,e quem fica olhando para as nuvens não colherá.

5 Assim como você não conhece o caminho do vento,nem como o corpo é formado^[b] no ventre de uma mulher,também não pode compreender as obras de Deus,o Criador de todas as coisas.

6 Plante de manhã a sua semente,e mesmo ao entardecer não deixe as suas mãos ficarem à toa,pois você não sabe o que acontecerá,se esta ou aquela produzirá,ou se as duas serão igualmente boas.

INTRODUCTION TO ECCLESIASTES 11

This chapter begins with an exhortation to liberality to the poor, enforced by several reasons and arguments, and the objections to it removed; and the whole illustrated by various similes, Ec 11:1-6; and then it is observed, that a life attended with outward prosperity and inward peace, and spent in doing good, is very delightful, and very desirable it is to have it continued; yet it should be remembered this will not be always, that many days of darkness in the grave will come; and after all the whole of a man's life is vanity, as is often inculcated, Ec 11:7,8; and the chapter is closed with an ironic address to young men, designed to show them the folly and danger of sinful courses, to reform them from them, and to put them in mind of a future judgment, Ec 11:9,10.
