Génesis 6:1-9

1 Y aconteció que cuando los hombres comenzaron a multiplicarse sobre la faz de la tierra, y les nacieron hijas,

2 los hijos de Dios vieron que las hijas de los hombres eran hermosas, y tomaron para sí mujeres de entre todas las que les gustaban.

3 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo: No contenderá mi Espíritu para siempre con el hombre, porque ciertamente él es carne. Serán, pues, sus días ciento veinte años.

4 Y había gigantes en la tierra en aquellos días, y también después, cuando los hijos de Dios se unieron a las hijas de los hombres y ellas les dieron a luz hijos. Estos son los héroes de la antiguedad, hombres de renombre.

5 Y el SEÑOR vio que era mucha la maldad de los hombres en la tierra, y que toda intención de los pensamientos de su corazón era sólo hacer siempre el mal.

6 Y le pesó al SEÑOR haber hecho al hombre en la tierra, y sintió tristeza en su corazón.

7 Y el SEÑOR dijo: Borraré de la faz de la tierra al hombre que he creado, desde el hombre hasta el ganado, los reptiles y las aves del cielo, porque me pesa haberlos hecho.

8 Mas Noé halló gracia ante los ojos del SEÑOR.

9 Estas son las generaciones de Noé. Noé era un hombre justo, perfecto entre sus contemporáneos; Noé andaba con Dios.

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 6

This chapter gives an account of the wickedness of the old world, both among the profane and the professors of religion, which was taken notice of and resented by God, upon which he determined the destruction of it, Ge 6:1-7 only one man, Noah, is excepted, who found favour with God, and whose character is given, Ge 6:8-10 and to whom was observed by God the general corruption of the earth, Ge 6:11-13 and to whom he gave orders and directions for the building an ark for himself, and his family, being determined to destroy the earth with a flood, and all creatures in it, Ge 6:14-17 only he would preserve him and his wife, his three sons and their wives, and two of every living creature, for which, and for himself and his family, he was to take food into the ark when built, Ge 6:18-21 and the chapter is concluded with observing, that Noah did as he was commanded, Ge 6:22.
