Isaías 37:27-37

27 Y sus moradores, cortos de manos, quebrantados y avergonzados, serán como grama del campo y hortaliza verde; como hierba de los tejados, que antes de madurar se seca.

28 He entendido tu estado, tu salida y tu entrada: y tu furor contra mí.

29 Porque contra mí te airaste, y tu estruendo ha subido a mis oídos. Pondré, pues, mi anzuelo en tu nariz, y mi freno en tus labios, y te haré tornar por el camino por donde viniste.

30 Y esto te será por señal: Comerás este año lo que nace de suyo, y el año segundo también lo que nace de suyo; y el año tercero sembraréis, y segaréis, y plantaréis viñas, y comeréis su fruto.

31 Y lo que hubiere escapado de la casa de Judá, tornará a echar raíz abajo, y hará fruto arriba.

32 Porque de Jerusalén saldrá remanente, y del Monte de Sion escapadura; el celo del SEÑOR de los ejércitos hará esto.

33 Por tanto, así dice el SEÑOR acerca del rey de Asiria: No entrará en esta ciudad, ni echará saeta en ella; no vendrá delante de ella escudo, ni será echado sobre ella baluarte.

34 Por el camino que vino, se tornará; y no entrará en esta ciudad, dice el SEÑOR:

35 Y yo ampararé a esta ciudad para salvarla por amor de mí, y por amor de David mi siervo.

36 Y salió el Angel del SEÑOR, y mató ciento ochenta y cinco mil, en el campo de los asirios; y cuando se levantaron por la mañana, he aquí que todo era cuerpos de muertos.

37 Entonces Sennaquerib rey de Asiria partiéndose se fue, y se tornó, e hizo su morada en Nínive.

INTRODUCTION TO ISAIAH 37

In this chapter are contained Hezekiah's message to Isaiah, desiring his prayer for him and his people, in this time of sore distress, Isa 37:1-5, the comforting and encouraging answer returned by the prophet to him, Isa 37:6,7, the king of Assyria's letter to Hezekiah, to terrify him into a surrender of the city of Jerusalem to him, Isa 37:8-13 which Hezekiah spread before the Lord, and prayed unto him for deliverance, Isa 37:14-20, upon which he received a gracious answer by the hand of the prophet, promising safety and deliverance to him, and destruction to the king of Assyria, of which a sign was given, Isa 37:21-35 and the chapter is closed with the slaughter of the Assyrian army by an angel, the flight of the king, and his death by the hands of his sons, Isa 37:36-38.
