for the poor ye always have with you, but ye shall not always have me.

A great multitude of the Jews therefore knew that he was there; and they came not only for Jesus’ sake, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

So the princes of the priests took counsel that they might also put Lazarus to death

because by reason of him many of the Jews went away and believed on Jesus.

On the next day the multitude that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him and cried, Hosanna; Blessed
is he that comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel.

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat upon it, as it is written,
15
Fear not, daughter of Sion; behold, thy King comes, sitting on an ass’s colt.
16
His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him and
that they had done these things unto him.
17
The multitude, therefore, that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave and raised him from the dead, bore witness.
18
For this cause the multitude also met him, for they had heard that he had done this sign.
