Números 10:29-36

29 Un día Moisés le dijo a su cuñado Hobab, hijo de Reuel, el madianita:
—Vamos en camino al lugar que el Señor
nos prometió, porque él nos dijo: “Yo se lo daré a ustedes”. Ven con nosotros y te trataremos bien, porque el Señor
ha prometido maravillosas bendiciones para Israel.

30 —No, no iré —respondió Hobab—. Debo regresar a mi propia tierra y a mi familia.

31 —Por favor, no nos dejes —rogó Moisés—. Tú conoces los lugares del desierto donde debemos acampar. Ven, sé nuestro guía.

32 Si vienes con nosotros, compartiremos contigo todas las bendiciones que el Señor
nos dará.

33 Así que después de salir del monte del Señor
, marcharon por tres días; y el arca del pacto del Señor
iba delante de ellos para indicarles dónde detenerse y descansar.

34 Cada día, mientras continuaban su viaje, la nube del Señor
se mantenía en el aire sobre ellos.

35 Siempre que el arca salía, Moisés gritaba: «¡Levántate, oh Señor
y que se dispersen tus enemigos! ¡Que huyan ante ti!»;

36 y cuando el arca se ponía en tierra, Moisés decía: «¡Vuelve, oh Señor
, a los incontables millares de Israel!».

INTRODUCTION TO NUMBERS 10

This chapter gives an account of the directions given for making two silver trumpets, and of the use of them, the ends and purposes for which they were to be made, Nu 10:1-10; and of the time of taking up of the cloud from the tabernacle, and of the removal of the camp of Israel from the wilderness of Sinai, and of the order of their march, Nu 10:11-28; when Moses most earnestly passed Hobab, his brother in law, to continue with him, Nu 10:29-32; and the chapter is closed with the prayer of Moses at the setting forward of the ark, and the resting of it, Nu 10:33-36.
