Salmos 135:7-17

7 Levanta las nubes desde los confines de la tierra;envía relámpagos con la lluviay saca de sus depósitos a los vientos.

8 A los primogénitos de Egipto hirió de muerte,tanto a hombres como a animales.

9 En tu corazón mismo, oh Egipto,Dios envió señales y maravillascontra el faraón y todos sus siervos.

10 A muchas naciones las hirió de muerte;a reyes poderosos les quitó la vida:

11 a Sijón, el rey amorreo;a Og, el rey de Basán,y a todos los reyes de Canaán.

12 Entregó sus tierras como herencia,¡como herencia para su pueblo Israel!

13 Tu nombre, SEÑOR, es eterno;tu renombre, por todas las generaciones.

14 Ciertamente el SEÑOR juzgará a su pueblo,y de sus siervos tendrá compasión.

15 Los ídolos de los paganos son de oro y plata,producto de manos humanas.

16 Tienen boca, pero no pueden hablar;ojos, pero no pueden ver;

17 tienen oídos, pero no pueden oír;¡ni siquiera hay aliento en su boca!

Salmos 135:7-17 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 135

This psalm was written very probably by the same hand as the former. It begins in much the same manner; it has some likeness with Psalm 113 and 114. It begins and ends with "hallelujah"; and is throughout an exhortation of praise to God, on account of his name, nature, and perfections; and because of his works of creation, providence, and grace, many of which are enumerated. The Syriac interpreter says, there is an intimation in it of the conversion of the people of the Messiah unto the faith.
