Éxodo 6:11-21

11 —Vuelve a hablar con el faraón, rey de Egipto, y dile que deje salir de su territorio al pueblo de Israel.

12 —¡Pero Señor
! —contestó Moisés—, si mi propio pueblo ya no quiere escucharme, ¿cómo puedo esperar que me escuche el faraón? ¡Soy tan torpe para hablar!

13 Pero el Señor
habló con Moisés y con Aarón y les dio órdenes para los israelitas y para el faraón, rey de Egipto. El Señor
mandó a Moisés y a Aarón que sacaran de Egipto al pueblo de Israel.

14 Antepasados de Moisés y de Aarón
Los siguientes son los antepasados de algunos de los clanes de Israel:
Los hijos de Rubén, el hijo mayor de Israel, fueron: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi. Sus descendientes formaron los clanes de Rubén.

15 Los hijos de Simeón fueron: Jemuel, Jamín, Ohad, Jaquín, Zohar y Saúl. (La madre de Saúl fue una mujer cananea). Sus descendientes formaron los clanes de Simeón.

16 Estos son los descendientes de Leví, tal como aparecen en los registros de familia. Los hijos de Leví fueron: Gersón, Coat y Merari. (Leví vivió hasta los ciento treinta y siete años).

17 Entre los descendientes de Gersón se encontraban Libni y Simei, cada uno de ellos llegó a ser el antepasado de un clan.

18 Entre los descendientes de Coat se encontraban Amram, Izhar, Hebrón y Uziel. (Coat vivió hasta los ciento treinta y tres años).

19 Entre los descendientes de Merari estaban Mahli y Musi.
Los siguientes son los clanes de los levitas, tal como aparecen en los registros de familia:

20 Amram se casó con Jocabed, hermana de su padre, y ella dio a luz dos hijos, Aarón y Moisés. (Amram vivó hasta los ciento treinta y siete años).

21 Los hijos de Izhar fueron: Coré, Nefeg y Zicri.

INTRODUCTION TO EXODUS 6

The Lord encourages Moses to hope for success from his name Jehovah, and the covenant he had made with the fathers of his people, Ex 6:1-5, orders him to assure the children of Israel that he would deliver them from their bondage and burdens, and bring them into the land of Canaan; but through their distress and anguish they hearkened not to him, Ex 6:6-9 but Moses is sent again to Pharaoh to demand the dismission of Israel, to which he seems unwilling, and both he and Aaron are charged both to go to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh, Ex 6:10-13, next follows a genealogy of the tribes of Reuben, Simeon, and Levi, which seems to be given for the sake of Moses and Aaron, and to show their descent, Ex 6:14-15, who were the persons appointed of God to be the instruments of bringing the children of Israel out of Egypt, Ex 6:26-30.
