The eyes of the LORD1 are on the righteous2 and his ears are attentive3 to their cry;

the face of the LORD is against4 those who do evil,5 to cut off the memory6 of them from the earth.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears7 them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

The LORD is close8 to the brokenhearted9 and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

A righteous man may have many troubles,10 but the LORD delivers him from them all;11

he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.12
