They bruised his feet with shackles,1 his neck was put in irons,
19
till what he foretold2 came to pass, till the word3 of the LORD proved him true.
20
The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free.4
21
He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed,
22
to instruct his princes5 as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom.6
23
Then Israel entered Egypt;7 Jacob lived8 as an alien in the land of Ham.9
24
The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous10 for their foes,
25
whose hearts he turned11 to hate his people, to conspire12 against his servants.
26
He sent Moses13 his servant, and Aaron,14 whom he had chosen.15
27
They performed16 his miraculous signs17 among them, his wonders18 in the land of Ham.
28
He sent darkness19 and made the land dark-- for had they not rebelled against20 his words?
