His victims are crushed,1 they collapse; they fall under his strength.
He says to himself, "God has forgotten;2 he covers his face and never sees."312
Arise,4 LORD! Lift up your hand,5 O God. Do not forget the helpless.613
Why does the wicked man revile God?7 Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"?814
But you, O God, do see trouble9 and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you;10 you are the helper11 of the fatherless.
Break the arm of the wicked and evil man;12 call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out.
The LORD is King for ever and ever;13 the nations14 will perish from his land.
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;15 you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,1618
defending the fatherless17 and the oppressed,18 in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
