Why does the wicked man revile God?1 Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"?214
But you, O God, do see trouble3 and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you;4 you are the helper5 of the fatherless.
Break the arm of the wicked and evil man;6 call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out.
The LORD is King for ever and ever;7 the nations8 will perish from his land.
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;9 you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,1018
defending the fatherless11 and the oppressed,12 in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
