From the rising of the sun1 to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.

The LORD is exalted2 over all the nations, his glory above the heavens.3

Who is like the LORD our God,4 the One who sits enthroned5 on high,6

who stoops down to look7 on the heavens and the earth?
7
He raises the poor8 from the dust and lifts the needy9 from the ash heap;
8
he seats them10 with princes, with the princes of their people.

He settles the barren11 woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the LORD.
