128 and because I consider all your precepts right,¹ I hate every wrong path.²

129 Your statutes are wonderful;³ therefore I obey them.⁴ 130 The unfolding of your words gives light;⁵ it gives understanding to the simple.⁶ 131 I open my mouth and pant,⁷ longing for your commands.⁸ 132 Turn to me⁹ and have mercy¹⁰ on me, as you always do to those who love your name.¹¹ 133 Direct my footsteps according to your word;¹² let no sin rule¹³ over me. 134 Redeem me from the oppression of men,¹⁴ that I may obey your precepts.¹⁵ 135 Make your face shine¹⁶ upon your servant and teach me your decrees.¹⁷ 136 Streams of tears¹⁸ flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.¹⁹ 137 Righteous are you,²⁰ O LORD, and your laws are right.²¹ 138 The statutes you have laid down are righteous;²² they are fully trustworthy.²³
