The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in darkness1 like those long dead.24
So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.35
I remember4 the days of long ago; I meditate5 on all your works and consider what your hands have done.
I spread out my hands6 to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. "Selah"
Answer me quickly,7 O LORD; my spirit fails.8 Do not hide your face9 from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,10 for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way11 I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.129
Rescue me13 from my enemies,14 O LORD, for I hide myself in you.
Teach me15 to do your will, for you are my God;16 may your good Spirit lead17 me on level ground.1811
For your name's sake,19 O LORD, preserve my life;20 in your righteousness,21 bring me out of trouble.
In your unfailing love, silence my enemies;22 destroy all my foes,23 for I am your servant.24
