Part your heavens,1 O LORD, and come down;2 touch the mountains, so that they smoke.36
Send forth lightning4 and scatter5 [the enemies]; shoot your arrows6 and rout them.
Reach down your hand from on high;7 deliver me and rescue me8 from the mighty waters,9 from the hands of foreigners108
whose mouths are full of lies,11 whose right hands12 are deceitful.139
I will sing a new song14 to you, O God; on the ten-stringed lyre15 I will make music to you,
to the One who gives victory to kings,16 who delivers his servant David17 from the deadly sword.1811
Deliver me and rescue me19 from the hands of foreigners20 whose mouths are full of lies,21 whose right hands are deceitful.2212
Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants,23 and our daughters will be like pillars24 carved to adorn a palace.
Our barns will be filled25 with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields;
our oxen26 will draw heavy loads.a There will be no breaching of walls,27 no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets.2815
Blessed are the people29 of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.
