Praise the LORD.a Praise the LORD,1 O my soul.
2
I will praise the LORD all my life;2 I will sing praise3 to my God as long as I live.4
3
Do not put your trust in princes,5 in mortal men,6 who cannot save.
4
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;7 on that very day their plans come to nothing.8

Blessed is he9 whose help10 is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

the Maker of heaven11 and earth, the sea, and everything in them-- the LORD, who remains faithful12 forever.
7
He upholds13 the cause of the oppressed14 and gives food to the hungry.15 The LORD sets prisoners free,16
8
the LORD gives sight17 to the blind,18 the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,19 the LORD loves the righteous.20
9
The LORD watches over the alien21 and sustains the fatherless22 and the widow,23 but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
10
The LORD reigns24 forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.
