View In My Bible
1 Why do the nations conspirea and the peoples plot1 in vain? 2 The kings2 of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed3 One.b4 3 "Let us break their chains,5" they say, "and throw off their fetters."6 4 The One enthroned7 in heaven laughs;8 the Lord scoffs at them. 5 Then he rebukes them in his anger9 and terrifies them in his wrath,10 saying, 6 "I have installed my Kingc11 on Zion,12 my holy hill.13" 7 I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Sond;14 today I have become your Father.e15 8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations16 your inheritance,17 the ends of the earth18 your possession. 9 You will rule them with an iron scepterf;19 you will dash them to pieces20 like pottery.21" 10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;22 be warned, you rulers23 of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear24 and rejoice25 with trembling.26
