1 O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! 2 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him.¹" "Selah"^a 3 But you are a shield² around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift^b up my head.³ 4 To the LORD I cry aloud,⁴ and he answers me from his holy hill.⁵ "Selah" 5 I lie down and sleep;⁶ I wake again,⁷ because the LORD sustains me. 6 I will not fear⁸ the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.⁹ 7 Arise,¹⁰ O LORD! Deliver me,¹¹ O my God! Strike¹² all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth¹³ of the wicked. 8 From the LORD comes deliverance.¹⁴ May your blessing¹⁵ be on your people. "Selah"
