For troubles1 without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.2 They are more than the hairs of my head,3 and my heart fails4 within me.
Be pleased, O LORD, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me.514
May all who seek to take my life6 be put to shame and confusion;7 may all who desire my ruin8 be turned back in disgrace.
May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!"9 be appalled at their own shame.
But may all who seek you10 rejoice and be glad11 in you; may those who love your salvation always say, "The LORD be exalted!"1217
Yet I am poor and needy;13 may the Lord think14 of me. You are my help15 and my deliverer;16 O my God, do not delay.17
