When you went out1 before your people, O God, when you marched through the wasteland,2 "Selah"
the earth shook,3 the heavens poured down rain,4 before God, the One of Sinai,5 before God, the God of Israel.69
You gave abundant showers,7 O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.
Your people settled in it, and from your bounty,8 O God, you provided9 for the poor.
The Lord announced the word, and great was the company10 of those who proclaimed it:
"Kings and armies flee11 in haste; in the camps men divide the plunder.1213
Even while you sleep among the campfires,a13 the wings of [my] dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold."
When the Almightyb scattered14 the kings in the land, it was like snow fallen on Zalmon.1515
The mountains of Bashan16 are majestic mountains;17 rugged are the mountains of Bashan.
Why gaze in envy, O rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses18 to reign, where the LORD himself will dwell forever?1917
The chariots20 of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands;21 the Lord [has come] from Sinai into his sanctuary.
