Look, he is coming with the clouds,1 and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;2 and all the peoples of the earth will mourn3 because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega,"4 says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come,5 the Almighty."6
One Like a Son of Man
9 I, John,7 your brother and companion in the suffering8 and kingdom9 and patient endurance10 that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God11 and the testimony of Jesus.12 10 On the Lord's Day13 I was in the Spirit,14 and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,15 11 which said: "Write on a scroll what you see16 and send it to the seven churches:17 to Ephesus,18 Smyrna,19 Pergamum,20 Thyatira,21 Sardis,22 Philadelphia23 and Laodicea."24 12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,25 13 and among the lampstands26 was someone "like a son of man,"a27 dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet28 and with a golden sash around his chest.29 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.30 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace,31 and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.32 16 In his right hand he held seven stars,33 and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword.34 His face was like the sun35 shining in all its brilliance. 17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet36 as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me37 and said: "Do not be afraid.38 I am the First and the Last.39Scripture quoted by permission.
