Blessed1 and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death2 has no power over them, but they will be priests3 of God and of Christ and will reign with him4 for a thousand years.
When the thousand years are over,5 Satan will be released from his prison
and will go out to deceive the nations6 in the four corners of the earth7--Gog and Magog8--to gather them for battle.9 In number they are like the sand on the seashore.109
They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded11 the camp of God's people, the city he loves.12 But fire came down from heaven13 and devoured them.
And the devil, who deceived them,14 was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,15 where the beast16 and the false prophet17 had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.18
Then I saw a great white throne19 and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence,20 and there was no place for them.
And I saw the dead, great and small,21 standing before the throne, and books were opened.22 Another book was opened, which is the book of life.23 The dead were judged24 according to what they had done25 as recorded in the books.
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades26 gave up the dead27 that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.2814
Then death29 and Hades30 were thrown into the lake of fire.31 The lake of fire is the second death.3215
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life,33 he was thrown into the lake of fire.
