7"To the angel of the church in Philadelphia2 write: These are the words of him who is holy3 and true,4 who holds the key of David.5 What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.8I know your deeds.6 See, I have placed before you an open door7 that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.89I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan,9 who claim to be Jews though they are not,10 but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet11 and acknowledge that I have loved you.1210Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you13 from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world14 to test15 those who live on the earth.1611I am coming soon.17 Hold on to what you have,18 so that no one will take your crown.1912Him who overcomes20 I will make a pillar21 in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God22 and the name of the city of my God,23 the new Jerusalem,24 which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.13He who has an ear, let him hear25 what the Spirit says to the churches.
14"To the angel of the church in Laodicea26 write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness,27 the ruler of God's creation.2815I know your deeds,29 that you are neither cold nor hot.30 I wish you were either one or the other!16So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
