Proverbs 23:11

11 for their Redeemer is strong; he will plead their cause against you.

Proverbs 23:11 Meaning and Commentary

Proverbs 23:11

For their Redeemer [is] mighty
As he must needs be, since the Lord of hosts is his name; who sympathizes with them, has mercy on them, is their father, and their friend; see ( Jeremiah 50:34 ) ( Hosea 14:3 ) ( Psalms 68:5 ) ; he shall plead their cause with thee;
or "against thee", as the Vulgate Latin version; and will certainly carry it for them, and against thee; for, when he undertakes a cause, he pleads it thoroughly.

Proverbs 23:11 In-Context

9 Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.
10 Do not remove an ancient landmark or enter the fields of the fatherless;
11 for their Redeemer is strong; he will plead their cause against you.
12 Apply your mind to instruction and your ear to words of knowledge.
13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
