281When He came to the otherside into the country of the Gadarenes, two men who were 2demon-possessedmet Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremelyviolent that noonecouldpass by that way.

And they cried out, saying, "3What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You comehere to torment us before the time?"

Now there was a herd of manyswinefeeding at a distance from them.

The demons began to entreat Him, saying, "If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine."

And He said to them, "Go!" And they came out and went into the swine, and the wholeherdrusheddown the steepbank into the sea and perished in the waters.

The herdsmenranaway, and went to the city and reportedeverything, includingwhathadhappened to the 4demoniacs.

And behold, the wholecitycame out to meetJesus; and when they saw Him, 5they implored Him to leave their region.
