-
For my part, I am going to bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.
-
The waters swelled so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered;
-
He blessed him and said, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth;
-
But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have sworn to the Lord, God Most High, maker of heaven and earth,
-
He brought him outside and said, "Look toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your descendants be."
-
Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven;
-
And God heard the voice of the boy; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, and said to her, "What troubles you, Hagar? Do not be afraid; for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.
-
But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
-
The angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven,
-
I will indeed bless you, and I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of their enemies,
-
and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I live,
-
The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me and swore to me, "To your offspring I will give this land,' he will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.
-
I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven, and will give to your offspring all these lands; and all the nations of the earth shall gain blessing for themselves through your offspring,
-
May God give you of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine.
-
Then his father Isaac answered him: "See, away from the fatness of the earth shall your home be, and away from the dew of heaven on high.
-
And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth, the top of it reaching to heaven; and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
-
And he was afraid, and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."
-
by the God of your father, who will help you, by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
-
The Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward heaven so that hail may fall on the whole land of Egypt, on humans and animals and all the plants of the field in the land of Egypt."
-
Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire came down on the earth. And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt;
-
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward heaven so that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness that can be felt."
-
So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was dense darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.
-
Then the Lord said to Moses, "I am going to rain bread from heaven for you, and each day the people shall go out and gather enough for that day. In that way I will test them, whether they will follow my instruction or not.
-
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Write this as a reminder in a book and recite it in the hearing of Joshua: I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven."
-
You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
-
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it.
-
The Lord said to Moses: Thus you shall say to the Israelites: "You have seen for yourselves that I spoke with you from heaven.
-
and they saw the God of Israel. Under his feet there was something like a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness.
-
It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed."
-
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, how you swore to them by your own self, saying to them, "I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.' "
-
The Lord your God has multiplied you, so that today you are as numerous as the stars of heaven.
-
Where are we headed? Our kindred have made our hearts melt by reporting, "The people are stronger and taller than we; the cities are large and fortified up to heaven! We actually saw there the offspring of the Anakim!' "
-
This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the peoples everywhere under heaven; when they hear report of you, they will tremble and be in anguish because of you."
-
"O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your might; what god in heaven or on earth can perform deeds and mighty acts like yours!
-
And when you look up to the heavens and see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, do not be led astray and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples everywhere under heaven.
-
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that you will soon utterly perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to occupy; you will not live long on it, but will be utterly destroyed.
-
For ask now about former ages, long before your own, ever since the day that God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of heaven to the other: has anything so great as this ever happened or has its like ever been heard of?
-
From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, while you heard his words coming out of the fire.
-
So acknowledge today and take to heart that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
-
You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
-
He will hand their kings over to you and you shall blot out their name from under heaven; no one will be able to stand against you, until you have destroyed them.
-
Let me alone that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and more numerous than they."
-
Although heaven and the heaven of heavens belong to the Lord your God, the earth with all that is in it,
-
Your ancestors went down to Egypt seventy persons; and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars in heaven.
-
by going to serve other gods and worshiping them—whether the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden—
-
Therefore when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies on every hand, in the land that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; do not forget.
-
Look down from your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless your people Israel and the ground that you have given us, as you swore to our ancestors—a land flowing with milk and honey."
-
Although once you were as numerous as the stars in heaven, you shall be left few in number, because you did not obey the Lord your God.
-
the Lord will be unwilling to pardon them, for the Lord's anger and passion will smoke against them. All the curses written in this book will descend on them, and the Lord will blot out their names from under heaven.
-
It is not in heaven, that you should say, "Who will go up to heaven for us, and get it for us so that we may hear it and observe it?"
-
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live,
-
Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officials, so that I may recite these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to witness against them.
-
For I lift up my hand to heaven, and swear: As I live forever,
-
And of Joseph he said: Blessed by the Lord be his land, with the choice gifts of heaven above, and of the deep that lies beneath;
-
As soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no courage left in any of us because of you. The Lord your God is indeed God in heaven above and on earth below.
-
As they fled before Israel, while they were going down the slope of Beth-horon, the Lord threw down huge stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died; there were more who died because of the hailstones than the Israelites killed with the sword.
-
The stars fought from heaven, from their courses they fought against Sisera.
-
When the flame went up toward heaven from the altar, the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar while Manoah and his wife looked on; and they fell on their faces to the ground.
-
The Lord! His adversaries shall be shattered; the Most High will thunder in heaven. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king, and exalt the power of his anointed."
-
those who did not die were stricken with tumors, and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
-
Absalom happened to meet the servants of David. Absalom was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the thick branches of a great oak. His head caught fast in the oak, and he was left hanging between heaven and earth, while the mule that was under him went on.
-
The Lord thundered from heaven; the Most High uttered his voice.
-
Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands to heaven.
-
He said, "O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and steadfast love for your servants who walk before you with all their heart,
-
"But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!
-
Hear the plea of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place; O hear in heaven your dwelling place; heed and forgive.
-
then hear in heaven, and act, and judge your servants, condemning the guilty by bringing their conduct on their own head, and vindicating the righteous by rewarding them according to their righteousness.
-
then hear in heaven, forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land that you gave to their ancestors.
-
"When heaven is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, and then they pray toward this place, confess your name, and turn from their sin, because you punish them,
-
then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and grant rain on your land, which you have given to your people as an inheritance.
-
then hear in heaven your dwelling place, forgive, act, and render to all whose hearts you know—according to all their ways, for only you know what is in every human heart—
-
then hear in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and so that they may know that your name has been invoked on this house that I have built.
-
then hear in heaven their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause.
-
then hear in heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their plea, maintain their cause
-
Now when Solomon finished offering all this prayer and this plea to the Lord, he arose from facing the altar of the Lord, where he had knelt with hands outstretched toward heaven;
-
Then Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, with all the host of heaven standing beside him to the right and to the left of him.
-
But Elijah answered the captain of fifty, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty." Then fire came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
-
But Elijah answered them, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty." Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.
-
Look, fire came down from heaven and consumed the two former captains of fifty men with their fifties; but now let my life be precious in your sight."
-
Now when the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven by a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal.
-
As they continued walking and talking, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them, and Elijah ascended in a whirlwind into heaven.
-
But the Lord had not said that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, so he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Joash.
-
They rejected all the commandments of the Lord their God and made for themselves cast images of two calves; they made a sacred pole, worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
-
And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said: "O Lord the God of Israel, who are enthroned above the cherubim, you are God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.
-
For he rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he erected altars for Baal, made a sacred pole, as King Ahab of Israel had done, worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.
-
He built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
-
The king commanded the high priest Hilkiah, the priests of the second order, and the guardians of the threshold, to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.
-
David looked up and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, and in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.
-
David built there an altar to the Lord and presented burnt offerings and offerings of well-being. He called upon the Lord, and he answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.
-
David did not count those below twenty years of age, for the Lord had promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars of heaven.
-
But who is able to build him a house, since heaven, even highest heaven, cannot contain him? Who am I to build a house for him, except as a place to make offerings before him?
-
Huram also said, "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given King David a wise son, endowed with discretion and understanding, who will build a temple for the Lord, and a royal palace for himself.
-
Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the court; and he stood on it. Then he knelt on his knees in the presence of the whole assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven.
-
He said, "O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven or on earth, keeping covenant in steadfast love with your servants who walk before you with all their heart—
-
"But will God indeed reside with mortals on earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this house that I have built!
-
And hear the plea of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place; may you hear from heaven your dwelling place; hear and forgive.
-
may you hear from heaven, and act, and judge your servants, repaying the guilty by bringing their conduct on their own head, and vindicating those who are in the right by rewarding them in accordance with their righteousness.
-
may you hear from heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land that you gave to them and to their ancestors.
-
"When heaven is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, and then they pray toward this place, confess your name, and turn from their sin, because you punish them,
-
may you hear in heaven, forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send down rain upon your land, which you have given to your people as an inheritance.
-
may you hear from heaven, your dwelling place, forgive, and render to all whose heart you know, according to all their ways, for only you know the human heart.
-
may you hear from heaven your dwelling place, and do whatever the foreigners ask of you, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that your name has been invoked on this house that I have built.
-
then hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause.
-
then hear from heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their pleas, maintain their cause and forgive your people who have sinned against you.
-
When Solomon had ended his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
-
if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
-
Then Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, with all the host of heaven standing to the right and to the left of him.
-
and said, "O Lord, God of our ancestors, are you not God in heaven? Do you not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? In your hand are power and might, so that no one is able to withstand you.
-
But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded; he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, "Because the Lord, the God of your ancestors, was angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand, but you have killed them in a rage that has reached up to heaven.
-
Then the priests and the Levites stood up and blessed the people, and their voice was heard; their prayer came to his holy dwelling in heaven.
-
Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz prayed because of this and cried to heaven.
-
For he rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had pulled down, and erected altars to the Baals, made sacred poles, worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.
-
He built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
-
"Thus says King Cyrus of Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever is among you of all his people, may the Lord his God be with him! Let him go up."
-
"Thus says King Cyrus of Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem in Judah.
-
This was their reply to us: "We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the house that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.
-
But because our ancestors had angered the God of heaven, he gave them into the hand of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house and carried away the people to Babylonia.
-
Whatever is needed—young bulls, rams, or sheep for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, or oil, as the priests in Jerusalem require—let that be given to them day by day without fail,
-
so that they may offer pleasing sacrifices to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his children.
-
"Artaxerxes, king of kings, to the priest Ezra, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven: Peace. And now
-
"I, King Artaxerxes, decree to all the treasurers in the province Beyond the River: Whatever the priest Ezra, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, requires of you, let it be done with all diligence,
-
Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done with zeal for the house of the God of heaven, or wrath will come upon the realm of the king and his heirs.
-
When I heard these words I sat down and wept, and mourned for days, fasting and praying before the God of heaven.
-
I said, "O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments;
-
Then the king said to me, "What do you request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven.
-
Then I replied to them, "The God of heaven is the one who will give us success, and we his servants are going to start building; but you have no share or claim or historic right in Jerusalem."
-
And Ezra said: "You are the Lord, you alone; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. To all of them you give life, and the host of heaven worships you.
-
You came down also upon Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,
-
For their hunger you gave them bread from heaven, and for their thirst you brought water for them out of the rock, and you told them to go in to possess the land that you swore to give them.
-
You multiplied their descendants like the stars of heaven, and brought them into the land that you had told their ancestors to enter and possess.
-
Therefore you gave them into the hands of their enemies, who made them suffer. Then in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them saviors who saved them from the hands of their enemies.
-
But after they had rest, they again did evil before you, and you abandoned them to the hands of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them; yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, and many times you rescued them according to your mercies.
-
While he was still speaking, another came and said, "The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; I alone have escaped to tell you."
-
It is higher than heaven —what can you do? Deeper than Sheol—what can you know?
-
Even now, in fact, my witness is in heaven, and he that vouches for me is on high.
-
Thick clouds enwrap him, so that he does not see, and he walks on the dome of heaven.'
-
"Dominion and fear are with God; he makes peace in his high heaven.
-
The pillars of heaven tremble, and are astounded at his rebuke.
-
Under the whole heaven he lets it loose, and his lightning to the corners of the earth.
-
From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the hoarfrost of heaven?
-
Who can confront it and be safe? —under the whole heaven, who?
-
The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord's throne is in heaven. His eyes behold, his gaze examines humankind.
-
The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.
-
Now I know that the Lord will help his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with mighty victories by his right hand.
-
The Lord looks down from heaven; he sees all humankind.
-
God looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.
-
He will send from heaven and save me, he will put to shame those who trample on me. (Selah) God will send forth his steadfast love and his faithfulness.
-
Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and everything that moves in them.
-
They set their mouths against heaven, and their tongues range over the earth.
-
Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you.
-
Yet he commanded the skies above, and opened the doors of heaven;
-
he rained down on them manna to eat, and gave them the grain of heaven.
-
Turn again, O God of hosts; look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine,
-
that he looked down from his holy height, from heaven the Lord looked at the earth,
-
They asked, and he brought quails, and gave them food from heaven in abundance.
-
They mounted up to heaven, they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their calamity;
-
May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
-
The Lord exists forever; your word is firmly fixed in heaven.
-
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
-
Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
-
May the Lord, maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.
-
Whatever the Lord pleases he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.
-
O give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.
-
If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.
-
who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever;
-
Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above earth and heaven.
-
When your eyes light upon it, it is gone; for suddenly it takes wings to itself, flying like an eagle toward heaven.
-
Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in the hollow of the hand? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is the person's name? And what is the name of the person's child? Surely you know!
-
applied my mind to seek and to search out by wisdom all that is done under heaven; it is an unhappy business that God has given to human beings to be busy with.
-
I searched with my mind how to cheer my body with wine—my mind still guiding me with wisdom—and how to lay hold on folly, until I might see what was good for mortals to do under heaven during the few days of their life.
-
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
-
Never be rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be quick to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven, and you upon earth; therefore let your words be few.
-
Ask a sign of the Lord your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.
-
How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!
-
You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of assembly on the heights of Zaphon;
-
Whoever flees at the sound of the terror shall fall into the pit; and whoever climbs out of the pit shall be caught in the snare. For the windows of heaven are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.
-
On that day the Lord will punish the host of heaven in heaven, and on earth the kings of the earth.
-
All the host of heaven shall rot away, and the skies roll up like a scroll. All their host shall wither like a leaf withering on a vine, or fruit withering on a fig tree.
-
"O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, who are enthroned above the cherubim, you are God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.
-
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
-
Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and glorious habitation. Where are your zeal and your might? The yearning of your heart and your compassion? They are withheld from me.
-
Thus says the Lord: Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is my resting place?
-
The children gather wood, the fathers kindle fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.
-
and they shall be spread before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and served, which they have followed, and which they have inquired of and worshiped; and they shall not be gathered or buried; they shall be like dung on the surface of the ground.
-
And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be defiled like the place of Topheth—all the houses upon whose roofs offerings have been made to the whole host of heaven, and libations have been poured out to other gods.
-
Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.
-
Just as the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will increase the offspring of my servant David, and the Levites who minister to me.
-
Thus says the Lord: Only if I had not established my covenant with day and night and the ordinances of heaven and earth,
-
Instead, we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to the queen of heaven and pour out libations to her, just as we and our ancestors, our kings and our officials, used to do in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. We used to have plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no misfortune.
-
But from the time we stopped making offerings to the queen of heaven and pouring out libations to her, we have lacked everything and have perished by the sword and by famine."
-
And the women said, "Indeed we will go on making offerings to the queen of heaven and pouring out libations to her; do you think that we made cakes for her, marked with her image, and poured out libations to her without our husbands' being involved?"
-
Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: You and your wives have accomplished in deeds what you declared in words, saying, "We are determined to perform the vows that we have made, to make offerings to the queen of heaven and to pour out libations to her.' By all means, keep your vows and make your libations!
-
and I will bring upon Elam the four winds from the four quarters of heaven; and I will scatter them to all these winds, and there shall be no nation to which the exiles from Elam shall not come.
-
We tried to heal Babylon, but she could not be healed. Forsake her, and let each of us go to our own country; for her judgment has reached up to heaven and has been lifted up even to the skies.
-
Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify her strong height, from me destroyers would come upon her, says the Lord.
-
How the Lord in his anger has humiliated daughter Zion! He has thrown down from heaven to earth the splendor of Israel; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.
-
Let us lift up our hearts as well as our hands to God in heaven.
-
until the Lord from heaven looks down and sees.
-
It stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the gateway of the inner court that faces north, to the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.
-
and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions with the rest of the wise men of Babylon might not perish.
-
Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night, and Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
-
but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has disclosed to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen at the end of days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed were these:
-
You, O king, the king of kings—to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the might, and the glory,
-
And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall this kingdom be left to another people. It shall crush all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever;
-
The tree grew great and strong, its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the ends of the whole earth.
-
"I continued looking, in the visions of my head as I lay in bed, and there was a holy watcher, coming down from heaven.
-
But leave its stump and roots in the ground, with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field. Let him be bathed with the dew of heaven, and let his lot be with the animals of the field in the grass of the earth.
-
The tree that you saw, which grew great and strong, so that its top reached to heaven and was visible to the end of the whole earth,
-
it is you, O king! You have grown great and strong. Your greatness has increased and reaches to heaven, and your sovereignty to the ends of the earth.
-
And whereas the king saw a holy watcher coming down from heaven and saying, "Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave its stump and roots in the ground, with a band of iron and bronze, in the grass of the field; and let him be bathed with the dew of heaven, and let his lot be with the animals of the field, until seven times pass over him'—
-
You shall be driven away from human society, and your dwelling shall be with the wild animals. You shall be made to eat grass like oxen, you shall be bathed with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you have learned that the Most High has sovereignty over the kingdom of mortals, and gives it to whom he will.
-
As it was commanded to leave the stump and roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be re-established for you from the time that you learn that Heaven is sovereign.
-
While the words were still in the king's mouth, a voice came from heaven: "O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: The kingdom has departed from you!
-
Immediately the sentence was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven away from human society, ate grass like oxen, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until his hair grew as long as eagles' feathers and his nails became like birds' claws.
-
When that period was over, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me. I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored the one who lives forever. For his sovereignty is an everlasting sovereignty, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation.
-
All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does what he wills with the host of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can stay his hand or say to him, "What are you doing?"
-
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are truth, and his ways are justice; and he is able to bring low those who walk in pride.
-
He was driven from human society, and his mind was made like that of an animal. His dwelling was with the wild asses, he was fed grass like oxen, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, until he learned that the Most High God has sovereignty over the kingdom of mortals, and sets over it whomever he will.
-
You have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven! The vessels of his temple have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines have been drinking wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know; but the God in whose power is your very breath, and to whom belong all your ways, you have not honored.
-
He delivers and rescues, he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth; for he has saved Daniel from the power of the lions."
-
I, Daniel, saw in my vision by night the four winds of heaven stirring up the great sea,
-
As I watched in the night visions, I saw one like a human being coming with the clouds of heaven. And he came to the Ancient One and was presented before him.
-
The kingship and dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them."
-
Then the male goat grew exceedingly great; but at the height of its power, the great horn was broken, and in its place there came up four prominent horns toward the four winds of heaven.
-
It grew as high as the host of heaven. It threw down to the earth some of the host and some of the stars, and trampled on them.
-
He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against our rulers, by bringing upon us a calamity so great that what has been done against Jerusalem has never before been done under the whole heaven.
-
And while still rising in power, his kingdom shall be broken and divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, nor according to the dominion with which he ruled; for his kingdom shall be uprooted and go to others besides these.
-
The man clothed in linen, who was upstream, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven. And I heard him swear by the one who lives forever that it would be for a time, two times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end, all these things would be accomplished.
-
Though they dig into Sheol, from there shall my hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, from there I will bring them down.
-
"I am a Hebrew," he replied. "I worship the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land."
-
Up, up! Flee from the land of the north, says the Lord; for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of heaven, says the Lord.
-
The angel answered me, "These are the four winds of heaven going out, after presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.
-
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.
-
"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
-
And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased."
-
From that time Jesus began to proclaim, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
-
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
-
"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
-
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
-
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
-
For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.
-
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
-
For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
-
But I say to you, Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God,
-
so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.
-
"Beware of practicing your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
-
"Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
-
Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
-
but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal.
-
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
-
"Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
-
I tell you, many will come from east and west and will eat with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,
-
As you go, proclaim the good news, "The kingdom of heaven has come near.'
-
"Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before my Father in heaven;
-
but whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven.
-
Truly I tell you, among those born of women no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
-
From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.
-
And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades. For if the deeds of power done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
-
At that time Jesus said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants;
-
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."
-
He answered, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
-
He put before them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field;
-
He put before them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field;
-
He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened."
-
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
-
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls;
-
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and caught fish of every kind;
-
And he said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old."
-
Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
-
The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test Jesus they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
-
And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven.
-
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
-
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
-
and said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
-
Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
-
"Take care that you do not despise one of these little ones; for, I tell you, in heaven their angels continually see the face of my Father in heaven.
-
So it is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.
-
Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
-
Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
-
"For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves.
-
For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can."
-
but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs."
-
Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
-
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly I tell you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven.
-
"For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
-
The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!"
-
Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or was it of human origin?" And they argued with one another, "If we say, "From heaven,' he will say to us, "Why then did you not believe him?'
-
"The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.
-
For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
-
And call no one your father on earth, for you have one Father—the one in heaven.
-
"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. For you do not go in yourselves, and when others are going in, you stop them.
-
and whoever swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by the one who is seated upon it.
-
"Immediately after the suffering of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.
-
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see "the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven' with power and great glory.
-
And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
-
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
-
"But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
-
"Then the kingdom of heaven will be like this. Ten bridesmaids took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
-
Jesus said to him, "You have said so. But I tell you, From now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven."
-
And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
-
And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
-
And a voice came from heaven, "You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."
-
Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and he divided the two fish among them all.
-
Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened."
-
The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, asking him for a sign from heaven, to test him.
-
Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said, "You lack one thing; go, sell what you own, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
-
Blessed is the coming kingdom of our ancestor David! Hosanna in the highest heaven!"
-
"Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses."
-
Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or was it of human origin? Answer me."
-
They argued with one another, "If we say, "From heaven,' he will say, "Why then did you not believe him?'
-
For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
-
and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
-
Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
-
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
-
"But about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
-
Jesus said, "I am; and "you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power,' and "coming with the clouds of heaven.' "
-
So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
-
"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!"
-
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us."
-
Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened,
-
and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, "You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."
-
But the truth is, there were many widows in Israel in the time of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a severe famine over all the land;
-
Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets.
-
And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
-
When his disciples James and John saw it, they said, "Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?"
-
And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades.
-
He said to them, "I watched Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning.
-
Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
-
At that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
-
Others, to test him, kept demanding from him a sign from heaven.
-
Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
-
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
-
I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you;
-
Then the son said to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
-
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one stroke of a letter in the law to be dropped.
-
but on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and sulfur from heaven and destroyed all of them
-
But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'
-
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "There is still one thing lacking. Sell all that you own and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
-
saying, "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!"
-
Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or was it of human origin?"
-
They discussed it with one another, saying, "If we say, "From heaven,' he will say, "Why did you not believe him?'
-
He will come and destroy those tenants and give the vineyard to others." When they heard this, they said, "Heaven forbid!"
-
there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and plagues; and there will be dreadful portents and great signs from heaven.
-
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
-
[Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength.
-
While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.
-
And John testified, "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.
-
And he said to him, "Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."
-
No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
-
John answered, "No one can receive anything except what has been given from heaven.
-
The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks about earthly things. The one who comes from heaven is above all.
-
Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, "He gave them bread from heaven to eat.' "
-
Then Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
-
For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
-
for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
-
Then the Jews began to complain about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven."
-
They were saying, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, "I have come down from heaven'?"
-
This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.
-
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."
-
This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like that which your ancestors ate, and they died. But the one who eats this bread will live forever."
-
Father, glorify your name." Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again."
-
After Jesus had spoken these words, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you,
-
until the day when he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
-
While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them.
-
They said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
-
And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
-
Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem.
-
And I will show portents in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and smoky mist.
-
who must remain in heaven until the time of universal restoration that God announced long ago through his holy prophets.
-
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved."
-
When they heard it, they raised their voices together to God and said, "Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth, the sea, and everything in them,
-
But God turned away from them and handed them over to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: "Did you offer to me slain victims and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
-
"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest?
-
But filled with the Holy Spirit, he gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
-
Now as he was going along and approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
-
He saw the heaven opened and something like a large sheet coming down, being lowered to the ground by its four corners.
-
This happened three times, and the thing was suddenly taken up to heaven.
-
"I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. There was something like a large sheet coming down from heaven, being lowered by its four corners; and it came close to me.
-
But a second time the voice answered from heaven, "What God has made clean, you must not call profane.'
-
This happened three times; then everything was pulled up again to heaven.
-
"Friends, why are you doing this? We are mortals just like you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.
-
yet he has not left himself without a witness in doing good—giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, and filling you with food and your hearts with joy."
-
The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands,
-
But when the town clerk had quieted the crowd, he said, "Citizens of Ephesus, who is there that does not know that the city of the Ephesians is the temple keeper of the great Artemis and of the statue that fell from heaven?
-
"While I was on my way and approaching Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.
-
when at midday along the road, your Excellency, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and my companions.
-
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those who by their wickedness suppress the truth.
-
But the righteousness that comes from faith says, "Do not say in your heart, "Who will ascend into heaven?' " (that is, to bring Christ down)
-
Indeed, even though there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as in fact there are many gods and many lords—
-
The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.
-
As was the man of dust, so are those who are of the dust; and as is the man of heaven, so are those who are of heaven.
-
Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we will also bear the image of the man of heaven.
-
I know a person in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know; God knows.
-
But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that one be accursed!
-
as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
-
from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name.
-
And, masters, do the same to them. Stop threatening them, for you know that both of you have the same Master in heaven, and with him there is no partiality.
-
so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
-
But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel
-
for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him.
-
and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.
-
provided that you continue securely established and steadfast in the faith, without shifting from the hope promised by the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven. I, Paul, became a servant of this gospel.
-
Masters, treat your slaves justly and fairly, for you know that you also have a Master in heaven.
-
and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath that is coming.
-
For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
-
and to give relief to the afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels
-
For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made by human hands, a mere copy of the true one, but he entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.
-
Therefore from one person, and this one as good as dead, descendants were born, "as many as the stars of heaven and as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore."
-
and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,
-
See that you do not refuse the one who is speaking; for if they did not escape when they refused the one who warned them on earth, how much less will we escape if we reject the one who warns from heaven!
-
At that time his voice shook the earth; but now he has promised, "Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven."
-
Above all, my beloved, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your "Yes" be yes and your "No" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
-
Then he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth yielded its harvest.
-
and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
-
It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in regard to the things that have now been announced to you through those who brought you good news by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look!
-
who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers made subject to him.
-
We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven, while we were with him on the holy mountain.
-
If you conquer, I will make you a pillar in the temple of my God; you will never go out of it. I will write on you the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
-
After this I looked, and there in heaven a door stood open! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."
-
At once I was in the spirit, and there in heaven stood a throne, with one seated on the throne!
-
And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it.
-
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing, "To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"
-
When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
-
The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
-
And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit;
-
And I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow over his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs like pillars of fire.
-
And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down."
-
Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and the land raised his right hand to heaven
-
and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it: "There will be no more delay,
-
Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again, saying, "Go, take the scroll that is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."
-
Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here!" And they went up to heaven in a cloud while their enemies watched them.
-
At that moment there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
-
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign forever and ever."
-
Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; and there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.
-
A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
-
Then another portent appeared in heaven: a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.
-
His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born.
-
And war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back,
-
but they were defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
-
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, proclaiming, "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Messiah, for the accuser of our comrades has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.
-
It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
-
It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in the sight of all;
-
And I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder; the voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps,
-
He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, for the hour of his judgment has come; and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water."
-
And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who from now on die in the Lord." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them."
-
Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.
-
Then I saw another portent in heaven, great and amazing: seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is ended.
-
After this I looked, and the temple of the tent of witness in heaven was opened,
-
and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and sores, and they did not repent of their deeds.
-
and huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, dropped from heaven on people, until they cursed God for the plague of the hail, so fearful was that plague.
-
After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority; and the earth was made bright with his splendor.
-
Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, so that you do not take part in her sins, and so that you do not share in her plagues;
-
for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
-
Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints and apostles and prophets! For God has given judgment for you against her.
-
After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power to our God,
-
Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse! Its rider is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.
-
And the armies of heaven, wearing fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.
-
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain.
-
They marched up over the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from heaven and consumed them.
-
Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sat on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.
-
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
-
And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
-
And in the spirit he carried me away to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.
