Viewing Multiple Passages

Psalms 81

1 Sing for joy to God our strength; shout in triumph to the God of Jacob.
2 Lift up a song-play the tambourine, the melodious lyre, and the harp.
3 Blow the horn during the new moon and during the full moon, on the day of our feast.
4 For this is a statute for Israel, a judgment of the God of Jacob.
5 He set it up as an ordinance for Joseph when He went throughout the land of Egypt. I heard an unfamiliar language:
6 "I relieved his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from [carrying] the basket.
7 You called out in distress, and I rescued you; I answered you from the thundercloud. I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah
8 Listen, My people, and I will admonish you. Israel, if you would only listen to Me!
9 There must not be a strange god among you; you must not bow down to a foreign god.
10 I am Yahweh your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11 "But My people did not listen to Me; Israel did not obey Me.
12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own plans.
13 If only My people would listen to Me and Israel would follow My ways,
14 I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their foes."
15 Those who hate the Lord would pretend submission to Him; their doom would last forever.
16 But He would feed Israel with the best wheat. "I would satisfy you with honey from the rock."

Psalms 82

1 God has taken His place in the divine assembly; He judges among the gods:
2 "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
3 Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
4 Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked."
5 They do not know or understand; they wander in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6 I said, "You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.
7 However, you will die like men and fall like any other ruler."
8 Rise up, God, judge the earth, for all the nations belong to You.

Psalms 83

1 God, do not keep silent. Do not be deaf, God; do not be idle.
2 See how Your enemies make an uproar; those who hate You have acted arrogantly.
3 They devise clever schemes against Your people; they conspire against Your treasured ones.
4 They say, "Come, let us wipe them out as a nation so that Israel's name will no longer be remembered."
5 For they have conspired with one mind; they form an alliance against You-
6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites,
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre.
8 Even Assyria has joined them; they lend support to the sons of Lot. Selah
9 Deal with them as [You did] with Midian, as [You did] with Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River.
10 They were destroyed at En-dor; they became manure for the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and all their tribal leaders like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, "Let us seize God's pastures for ourselves."
13 Make them like tumbleweed, my God, like straw before the wind.
14 As fire burns a forest, as a flame blazes through mountains,
15 so pursue them with Your tempest and terrify them with Your storm.
16 Cover their faces with shame so that they will seek Your name, Lord.
17 Let them be put to shame and terrified forever; let them perish in disgrace.
18 May they know that You alone- whose name is Yahweh- are the Most High over all the earth.

Romans 11:19-36

19 Then you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in."
20 True enough; they were broken off by unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either.
22 Therefore, consider God's kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness toward you-if you remain in His kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.
23 And even they, if they do not remain in unbelief, will be grafted in, because God has the power to graft them in again.
24 For if you were cut off from your native wild olive, and against nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these-the natural branches-be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 So that you will not be conceited, brothers, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery: a partial hardening has come to Israel until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written: The Liberator will come from Zion; He will turn away godlessness from Jacob.
27 And this will be My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.
28 Regarding the gospel, they are enemies for your advantage, but regarding election, they are loved because of their forefathers,
29 since God's gracious gifts and calling are irrevocable.
30 As you once disobeyed God, but now have received mercy through their disobedience,
31 so they too have now disobeyed, [resulting] in mercy to you, so that they also now may receive mercy.
32 For God has imprisoned all in disobedience, so that He may have mercy on all.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways!
34 For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?
35 Or who has ever first given to Him, and has to be repaid?
36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
