They brought it to Jesus, 6and they threw their coats on the colt and putJesus on it.

As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road.

As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of 7the Mount of Olives, the wholecrowd of the disciplesbegan to 8praiseGodjoyfully with a loudvoice for all the miracleswhich they had seen,

shouting: "9BLESSED IS THE 10KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and 11glory in the highest!"

12Some of the Pharisees in the crowdsaid to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples."

But Jesus answered, "I tell you, ifthesebecomesilent, 13the stones will cry out!"

When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and 14weptover it,

saying, "If you had known in thisday, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

"For the days will come upon you when your enemies will 15throw up a barricade against you, and 16surround you and hem you in on everyside,
44
and they will level you to the ground and your childrenwithin you, and 17they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because* you did not recognize18the time of your visitation."
Traders Driven from the Temple
4519Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling,

saying to them, "It is written, '20AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,' 21but you have made it a ROBBERS'DEN."

And 22He was teachingdaily* in the temple; but the chiefpriests and the scribes and the leadingmen among the people23were trying to destroy Him,

and they could not findanything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said.
