23 ¿A quién injuriaste, y a quién blasfemaste? ¿Contra quién has alzado tu voz, y levantado tus ojos en alto? Contra el Santo de Israel.

Isaiah 37:23

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed?
&c.] A creature like thyself? no, but a God, and not one like the gods of the nations, the idols of wood and stone, but the living God: and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice?
alluding to Rabshakeh's crying with a loud voice, ( Isaiah 36:13 ) : and lifted up thine eyes on high?
as proud and haughty persons do, disdaining to look upon those they treat with contempt: even against the Holy One of Israel;
that is, Israel's God, and will protect him; "a Holy One", and of purer eyes than to behold with pleasure such a proud blaspheming creature, and cannot look upon him but with indignation; for against such he sets himself; these he resists, pulls down, and destroys.

21 Entonces Isaías hijo de Amoz, envió a decir a Ezequías: El SEÑOR Dios de Israel dice así: Acerca de lo que me rogaste sobre Sennaquerib rey de Asiria,

22 esto es lo que el SEÑOR habló de él: ¿Te ha menospreciado? Ha hecho escarnio de ti oh virgen hija de Sion? ¿Meneó su cabeza a tus espaldas oh hija de Jerusalén?

23 ¿A quién injuriaste, y a quién blasfemaste? ¿Contra quién has alzado tu voz, y levantado tus ojos en alto? Contra el Santo de Israel.

24 Por mano de tus siervos vituperaste al Señor, y dijiste: Yo con la multitud de mis carros subiré a las alturas de los montes, a las laderas del Líbano; cortaré sus altos cedros, sus hayas escogidas; vendré después a lo alto de su límite, al monte de su Carmelo.

25 Yo cavé, y bebí las aguas; y con las pisadas de mis pies secaré todos los ríos de sustento.
