Luke 8:48

And he said unto her, daughter
Instead of frowning upon her, and chiding her for what she had done, he addressed her in a very affable and affectionate manner; bidding her

be of good comfort;
and not be afraid; this clause is left out in the Vulgate Latin version, as in ( Mark 5:34 ) but is in the copies, and other versions:

thy faith hath made thee whole, go peace;

49 While He yet spoke, there came one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, "Thy daughter is dead. Trouble not the Master."
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, "Fear not; believe only, and she shall be made whole."
