Mark 6:55 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 6:55

And ran through that whole region round about
That is, the inhabitants of that part of the country where Christ landed, ran many of them themselves, and others sent messengers into all parts of it, on every side:

and began to carry about in beds those that were sick;
or lame, or so disordered that they could not walk, or bear any other way of being carried: these they brought to him,

where they heard he was:
in whatsoever part of the country they could learn he was in; for he went about from place to place doing good.

Mark 6:55 In-Context

53 And when they had crossed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
54 And when they had come out of the boat, straightway the people recognized Him,
55 and ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry on beds those who were sick to where they heard He was.
56 And whithersoever He entered, into villages or cities or the country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought Him that they might touch even the border of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made whole.
