Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.118
Do not get drunk on wine,2 which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,319
speaking to one another with psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit.4 Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,
always giving thanks5 to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Submit to one another6 out of reverence for Christ.
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands7 as you do to the Lord.823
For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church,9 his body, of which he is the Savior.
Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands10 in everything.
Husbands, love your wives,11 just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her1226
to make her holy,13 cleansinga her by the washing14 with water through the word,
and to present her to himself15 as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.16
