14:1-7pp -- Ps 53:1-6

For the director of music. Of David."

1 Foolsa say in their hearts, "There is no God."1 They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. 2 The LORD looks down from heaven2 on the human race to see if there are any who understand,3 any who seek God.4 3 All have turned away,5 all have become corrupt;6 there is no one who does good,7 not even one.8 4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?9 They devour my people10 as though eating bread; they never call on the LORD.11 5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge.12 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!13 When the LORD restores14 his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
