Praise the LORD.a How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant1 and fitting to praise him!22
The LORD builds up Jerusalem;3 he gathers the exiles4 of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted5 and binds up their wounds.64
He determines the number of the stars7 and calls them each by name.
Great is our Lord8 and mighty in power;9 his understanding has no limit.106
The LORD sustains the humble11 but casts the wicked12 to the ground.
Sing to the LORD13 with grateful praise;14 make music15 to our God on the harp.168
He covers the sky with clouds;17 he supplies the earth with rain18 and makes grass grow19 on the hills.
He provides food20 for the cattle and for the young ravens21 when they call.
His pleasure is not in the strength22 of the horse,23 nor his delight in the power of human legs;
the LORD delights24 in those who fear him,25 who put their hope26 in his unfailing love.2712
Extol the LORD, Jerusalem;28 praise your God, Zion.
He strengthens the bars of your gates29 and blesses your people30 within you.
He grants peace31 to your borders and satisfies you32 with the finest of wheat.3315
He sends his command34 to the earth; his word runs35 swiftly.
He spreads the snow36 like wool and scatters the frost37 like ashes.
He hurls down his hail38 like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
He sends his word39 and melts them; he stirs up his breezes,40 and the waters flow.
He has revealed his word41 to Jacob,42 his laws and decrees43 to Israel.
He has done this for no other nation;44 they do not know45 his laws.b Praise the LORD.46
