1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;¹ may the name of the God of Jacob² protect you.³ 2 May he send you help⁴ from the sanctuary⁵ and grant you support⁶ from Zion.⁷ 3 May he remember⁸ all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.^a⁹ 4 May he give you the desire of your heart¹⁰ and make all your plans succeed.¹¹ 5 May we shout for joy¹² over your victory and lift up our banners¹³ in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.¹⁴ 6 Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed.¹⁵ He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.¹⁶ 7 Some trust in chariots¹⁷ and some in horses,¹⁸ but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.¹⁹ 8 They are brought to their knees and fall,²⁰ but we rise up²¹ and stand firm.²² 9 LORD, give victory to the king! Answer us²³ when we call!
