God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great.12
His tent is in Salem,2 his dwelling place in Zion.33
There he broke the flashing arrows,4 the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.a54
You are resplendent with light,6 more majestic than mountains rich with game.

The valiant7 lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep;8 not one of the warriors can lift his hands.

At your rebuke,9 God of Jacob, both horse and chariot10 lie still.

It is you alone who are to be feared.11 Who can stand12 before you when you are angry?138
From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared14 and was quiet--

when you, God, rose up to judge,15 to save all the afflicted16 of the land.

Surely your wrath against human beings brings you praise,17 and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.b11
Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them;18 let all the neighboring lands bring gifts19 to the One to be feared.

He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.
