1 Come,1 let us sing for joy2 to the LORD; let us shout aloud3 to the Rock4 of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him5 with thanksgiving6 and extol him with music7 and song. 3 For the LORD is the great God,8 the great King9 above all gods.10 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,11 and the mountain peaks belong to him. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.12 6 Come, let us bow down13 in worship,14 let us kneel15 before the LORD our Maker;16 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture,17 the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice, 8 "Do not harden your hearts18 as you did at Meribah,a19 as you did that day at Massahb in the wilderness,20 9 where your ancestors tested21 me; they tried me, though they had seen what I did. 10 For forty years22 I was angry with that generation; I said, 'They are a people whose hearts go astray,23 and they have not known my ways.'24 11 So I declared on oath25 in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.' "26
