View In My Bible

Aleph

1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,1 who walk2 according to the law of the LORD.3 2 Blessed4 are those who keep his statutes5 and seek him6 with all their heart--7 3 they do no wrong8 but follow his ways.9 4 You have laid down precepts10 that are to be fully obeyed.11 5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!12 6 Then I would not be put to shame13 when I consider all your commands.14 7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.15 8 I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.16

Beth

9 How can those who are young keep their way pure?17 By living according to your word.18 10 I seek you with all my heart;19 do not let me stray from your commands.20 11 I have hidden your word in my heart21 that I might not sin22 against you. 12 Praise be23 to you, LORD; teach me24 your decrees.25 13 With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.26 14 I rejoice in following your statutes27 as one rejoices in great riches. 15 I meditate on your precepts28 and consider your ways. 16 I delight29 in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.

17 Be good to your servant30 while I live, that I may obey your word.31 18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law. 19 I am a stranger on earth;32 do not hide your commands from me. 20 My soul is consumed33 with longing for your laws34 at all times. 21 You rebuke the arrogant,35 who are accursed,36 those who stray37 from your commands. 22 Remove from me their scorn38 and contempt, for I keep your statutes.39 23 Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees. 24 Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.

Daleth

25 I am laid low in the dust;40 preserve my life41 according to your word.42 26 I gave an account of my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees.43 27 Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.44 28 My soul is weary with sorrow;45 strengthen me46 according to your word.47 29 Keep me from deceitful ways;48 be gracious to me49 and teach me your law. 30 I have chosen50 the way of faithfulness;51 I have set my heart52 on your laws. 31 I hold fast53 to your statutes, LORD; do not let me be put to shame. 32 I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.

He

33 Teach me,54 LORD, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.a 34 Give me understanding,55 so that I may keep your law56 and obey it with all my heart.57 35 Direct me58 in the path of your commands,59 for there I find delight.60 36 Turn my heart61 toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.62 37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life63 according to your word.b64 38 Fulfill your promise65 to your servant, so that you may be feared. 39 Take away the disgrace66 I dread, for your laws are good. 40 How I long67 for your precepts! 41 May your unfailing love69 come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your promise;70 42 then I can answer71 anyone who taunts me,72 for I trust in your word. 43 Never take your word of truth from my mouth,73 for I have put my hope74 in your laws. 44 I will always obey your law,75 for ever and ever. 45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.76 46 I will speak of your statutes before kings77 and will not be put to shame,78 47 for I delight79 in your commands because I love them.80 48 I reach out for your commands, which I love, that I may meditate81 on your decrees.

49 Remember your word82 to your servant, for you have given me hope.83 50 My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.84 51 The arrogant mock me85 unmercifully, but I do not turn86 from your law. 52 I remember,87 LORD, your ancient laws, and I find comfort in them. 53 Indignation grips me88 because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law.89 54 Your decrees are the theme of my song90 wherever I lodge. 55 In the night, LORD, I remember91 your name, that I may keep your law.92 56 This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.93

Heth

57 You are my portion,94 LORD; I have promised to obey your words.95 58 I have sought96 your face with all my heart; be gracious to me97 according to your promise.98 59 I have considered my ways99 and have turned my steps to your statutes. 60 I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.100 61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget101 your law. 62 At midnight102 I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws.103 63 I am a friend to all who fear you,104 to all who follow your precepts.105 64 The earth is filled with your love,106 LORD; teach me your decrees.107

Teth

65 Do good108 to your servant according to your word,109 LORD. 66 Teach me knowledge110 and good judgment, for I trust your commands. 67 Before I was afflicted111 I went astray,112 but now I obey your word.113 68 You are good,114 and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.115 69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,116 I keep your precepts with all my heart. 70 Their hearts are callous117 and unfeeling, but I delight in your law. 71 It was good for me to be afflicted118 so that I might learn your decrees. 72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.119

Yodh

73 Your hands made me120 and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. 74 May those who fear you rejoice121 when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word.122 75 I know, LORD, that your laws are righteous,123 and that in faithfulness124 you have afflicted me. 76 May your unfailing love125 be my comfort, according to your promise126 to your servant. 77 Let your compassion127 come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.128 78 May the arrogant129 be put to shame for wronging me without cause;130 but I will meditate on your precepts. 79 May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes.131 80 May my heart be blameless132 toward your decrees,133 that I may not be put to shame.134

Kaph

81 My soul faints135 with longing for your salvation,136 but I have put my hope137 in your word. 82 My eyes fail,138 looking for your promise;139 I say, "When will you comfort me?" 83 Though I am like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget140 your decrees. 84 How long141 must your servant wait? When will you punish my persecutors?142 85 The arrogant143 dig pits144 to trap me, contrary to your law. 86 All your commands are trustworthy;145 help me,146 for I am being persecuted147 without cause.148 87 They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken149 your precepts. 88 In your unfailing love150 preserve my life,151 that I may obey the statutes152 of your mouth.
