Psalm 145:1-21 (Today's New International Version)

A psalm of praise. Of David."

1 I will exalt you,¹ my God the King;² I will praise your name³ for ever and ever. 2 Every day I will praise⁴ you and extol your name⁵ for ever and ever. 3 Great⁶ is the LORD and most worthy of praise;⁷ his greatness no one can fathom.⁸ 4 One generation⁹ commends your works to another; they tell¹⁰ of your mighty acts.¹¹ 5 They speak of the glorious splendor¹² of your majesty-- and I will meditate on your wonderful works.^a13 6 They tell¹⁴ of the power of your awesome works--¹⁵ and I will proclaim¹⁶ your great deeds.¹⁷ 7 They celebrate your abundant goodness¹⁸ and joyfully sing¹⁹ of your righteousness.²⁰ 8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate,²¹ slow to anger and rich in love.²² 9 The LORD is good²³ to all; he has compassion²⁴ on all he has made. 10 All your works praise you,²⁵ LORD; your faithful people extol²⁶ you.²⁷ 11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom²⁸ and speak of your might,²⁹ 12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts³⁰ and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.³¹ 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,³² and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy³³ in all he promises³⁴ and faithful in all he does.^b 14 The LORD upholds³⁵ all who fall and lifts up all³⁶ who are bowed down.³⁷ 15 The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food³⁸ at the proper time. 16 You open your hand and satisfy the desires³⁹ of every living thing. 17 The LORD is righteous⁴⁰ in all his ways and faithful in all he does.⁴¹ 18 The LORD is near⁴² to all who call on him,⁴³ to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desires⁴⁴ of those who fear him;⁴⁵ he hears their cry⁴⁶ and saves them.⁴⁷ 20 The LORD watches over⁴⁸ all who love him,⁴⁹ but all the wicked he will destroy.⁵⁰ 21 My mouth will speak⁵¹ in praise of the LORD. Let every creature⁵² praise his holy name⁵³ for ever and ever.
