1 LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name¹ in all the earth! You have set your glory² above the heavens.³ 2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold⁴ against your enemies, to silence the foe⁵ and the avenger. 3 When I consider your heavens,⁶ the work of your fingers,⁷ the moon and the stars,⁸ which you have set in place, 4 what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?^a⁹ 5 You have made them^b a little lower than the heavenly beings^c¹⁰ and crowned them^d with glory and honor.¹¹ 6 You made them rulers¹² over the works of your hands;¹³ you put everything under their^e feet:¹⁴¹⁵ 7 all flocks and herds,¹⁶ and the animals of the wild,¹⁷ 8 the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea,¹⁸ all that swim the paths of the seas. 9 LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!¹⁹
