And Jesus cried with a loud voice
A second time, and said the words which are in ( Luke 23:46 ) and in ( John 19:30 )

and gave up the ghost.
The Syriac version renders it, "and finished": his life, his days, his race, his ministry, and the work which was given him to do; (See Gill on Matthew 27:50).

38 And the vayle of the temple dyd rent in two peces from the toppe to the boottome.
39 And when the Centurion which stode before him sawe that he so cryed and gave vp the gooste he sayd: truly this man was the sonne of God.
