1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.3But every spirit who does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist; you have heard that he is coming, and he is already in the world now. 4You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.5They are from the world. Therefore what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them.6We are from God. Anyone who knows God listens to us; anyone who is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.
7Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.8The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.9God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.10Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.11Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another.12No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us and His love is perfected in us. 13This is how we know that we remain in Him and He in us: He has given to us from His Spirit.14And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.15Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God-God remains in him and he in God.16And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. 17In this, love is perfected with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; for we are as He is in this world.18There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears has not reached perfection in love.19We love because He first loved us.
20If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For the person who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.21And we have this command from Him: the one who loves God must also love his brother.
1In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, the word of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The Lord put it into the mind of King Cyrus to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and [to put it] in writing: 2This is what King Cyrus of Persia says: "The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and has appointed me to build Him a house at Jerusalem in Judah.3Whoever is among His people, may his God be with him, and may he go to Jerusalem in Judah and build the house of the Lord, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem.4Let every survivor, wherever he lives, be assisted by the men of that region with silver, gold, goods, and livestock, along with a freewill offering for the house of God in Jerusalem."
5So the family leaders of Judah and Benjamin, along with the priests and Levites-everyone God had motivated-prepared to go up and rebuild the Lord's house in Jerusalem.6All their neighbors supported them with silver articles, gold, goods, livestock, and valuables, in addition to all that was given as a freewill offering.7King Cyrus also brought out the articles of the Lord's house that Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and had placed in the house of his gods.8King Cyrus of Persia had them brought out under the supervision of Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.9This was the inventory: 30 gold basins, 1,000 silver basins, 29 silver knives,1030 gold bowls, 410 various silver bowls, and 1,000 other articles. 11The gold and silver articles totaled 5,400. Sheshbazzar brought all of them when the exiles went up from Babylon to Jerusalem.

68After they arrived at the Lord's house in Jerusalem, some of the family leaders gave freewill offerings for the house of God in order to have it rebuilt on its [original] site.69Based on what they could give, they gave 61,000 gold coins, 6,250 pounds of silver, and 100 priestly garments to the treasury for the project.70The priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers, temple servants, and some of the people settled in their towns, and [the rest of] Israel [settled] in their towns.
1The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." 3He Himself will deliver you from the hunter's net, from the destructive plague. 4He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield. 5You will not fear the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day, 6the plague that stalks in darkness, or the pestilence that ravages at noon. 7Though a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, the pestilence will not reach you. 8You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked. 9Because you have made the Lord-my refuge, the Most High-your dwelling place, 10no harm will come to you; no plague will come near your tent. 11For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways. 12They will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the young lion and the serpent. 14Because he is lovingly devoted to Me, I will deliver him; I will exalt him because he knows My name. 15When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him and give him honor. 16I will satisfy him with a long life and show him My salvation.
