And when they came to him, he said to them: 1
"You yourselves know 2
how I lived among you the whole time 3
from the first day that I set foot in Asia,
serving the Lord 5
with all humility and with 6
tears and with trials that happened to me through 7
the plots of the Jews;
how I 8
did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and 9
teaching you in public and from house to house,
testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of 11
repentance toward God and of 12
faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained 13
by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there,
except that 14
the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that 15
imprisonment and 16
afflictions await me.
I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only 18
I may finish my course and 19
the ministry 20
that I received from the Lord Jesus, 21
to testify to 22
the gospel of 23
the grace of God.
And now, behold, 24
I know that none of you among whom I have gone about 25
proclaiming the kingdom will see my face again.
I testify to you this day that 27
I am innocent of the blood of all of you,
I did not shrink from declaring to you 29
the whole counsel of God.
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all 31
the flock, in which 32
the Holy Spirit has made you 33
to care for 35
the church of God, which he 36
with his own blood.
know that after my departure 39
fierce wolves will come in among you, 40
not sparing the flock;
from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
be alert, remembering that 43
for three years I did not cease night or day 44
to admonish everyone 45
And now 46
I commend you to God and to 47
the word of his grace, which is able to 48
build you up and to give you 49
the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
I coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.
You yourselves know that 52
these hands ministered to my necessities and 53
to those who were with me.
In all things 54
I have shown you that 55
by working hard in this way we must 56
help the weak and 57
remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed 58to give than to receive.'"
