But 1immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints;
and there must be no 2filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which 3are not fitting, but rather 4giving of thanks.
For this you know with certainty, that 5no * immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom 6of Christ and God.
7Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things 8the wrath of God comes upon 9the sons of disobedience.
Therefore do not be 10partakers with them;
for 11you were formerly 12darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as 13children of Light
(for 14the fruit of the Light consists in all 15goodness and righteousness and truth ),
16trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
But all things become visible 21when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
For this reason it says, "22Awake, sleeper, And arise from 23the dead, And Christ 24will shine on you."
Therefore be careful * how you 25walk, not 26as unwise men but as wise,
27making the most of your time, because 28the days are evil.
So * then * do not be foolish, but 29understand what the will of the Lord is.
