Oseas 2:14-23

14 »Por eso, ahora voy a seducirla:me la llevaré al desiertoy le hablaré con ternura.

15 Allí le devolveré sus viñedos,y convertiré el valle de la Desgracia^[a]en el paso de la Esperanza.Allí me corresponderá, como en los días de su juventud,como en el día en que salió de Egipto.

16 »En aquel día —afirma el SEÑOR—,ya no me llamarás: “mi señor”,^[b]sino que me dirás: “esposo mío”.

17 Te quitaré de los labios el nombre de tus falsos dioses,y nunca más volverás a invocarlos.

18 Aquel día haré en tu favor un pactocon los animales del campo,con las aves de los cielosy con los reptiles de la tierra.Eliminaré del país arcos, espadas y guerra,para que todos duerman seguros.

19 Yo te haré mi esposa para siempre,y te daré como dote el derecho y la justicia,el amor y la compasión.

20 Te daré como dote mi fidelidad,y entonces conocerás al SEÑOR.

21 »En aquel día yo responderé—afirma el SEÑOR—;yo le responderé al cielo,y el cielo le responderá a la tierra;

22 la tierra les responderá al cereal,al vino nuevo y al aceite,y estos le responderán a Jezrel.^[c]

23 Yo la sembraré para mí en la tierra;me compadeceré de la “Indigna de compasión”,a “Pueblo ajeno” lo llamaré: “Pueblo mío”;^[d]y él me dirá: “Mi Dios”».

INTRODUCTION TO HOSEA 2

This chapter is an explanation of the former, proceeding upon the same argument in more express words. The godly Israelites are here called upon to lay before the body of the people their idolatry, ingratitude, obstinacy, and ignorance of the God of their mercies; and to exhort them to repentance, lest they should be stripped of all their good things, and be brought into great distress and difficulties; all their joy and comfort cease, and be exposed to shame and contempt, Ho 2:1-13, yet, notwithstanding, many gracious promises are made unto them, of their having the alluring and comfortable word of the Gospel; of a door of hope; of salvation being opened to them; of faith in the Lord, and affection to him as their husband; of the removal of all idolatry from them; of safety from all enemies; of their open espousal to Christ; of his hearing of their prayers, and giving them plenty of all good things; and of their multiplication, conversion, and covenant relation to God, Ho 2:14-23.
