CEB 1 This was Israel's family: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, NRS 1 These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, CEB 2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. NRS 2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. CEB 3 Judah's family: Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him with Bath-shua the Canaanite. Although Er was Judah's oldest, the LORD considered him wicked and put him to death. NRS 3 The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah; these three the Canaanite woman Bath-shua bore to him. CEB 10 Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, tribal chief of the Judeans. These were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. NRS 18 Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah, and by Jerioth; these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. CEB 19 After Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who gave birth to Hur for him. NRS 19 When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur. CEB 20 Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri was the father of Bezalel. NRS 20 Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel. CEB 21 Later, Hezron had sexual relations with the daughter of Machir, Gilead's father, whom he married when he was 60 years old, and she gave birth to Segub for him. NRS 21 Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old; and she bore him Segub; CEB 22 Segub was the father of Jair, who owned twenty-three towns in the land of Gilead, NRS 22 and Segub became the father of Jair, who had twenty-three towns in the land of Gilead. CEB 23 but Geshur and Aram took Havvoth-jair from them, as well as Kenath and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir, Gilead's father. NRS 23 But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, Kenath and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir, father of Gilead. CEB 24 After Hezron's death, Caleb went to Ephrath. Abijah, Hezron's wife, bore him Ashhur, Tekoa's father. NRS 24 After the death of Hezron, in Caleb-ephrathah, Abijah wife of Hezron bore him Ashhur, father of Tekoa. CEB 25 The family of Jerahmeel, Hezron's oldest son: Ram his oldest, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. NRS 25 The sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron: Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. CEB 26 Jerahmeel had another wife named Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. NRS 26 Jerahmeel also had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. CEB 27 The family of Ram, Jerahmeel's oldest son: Maaz, Jamin, and Eker. NRS 27 The sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin, and Eker. CEB 28 Onam's family: Shammai and Jada. Shammai's family: Nadab and Abishur. NRS 28 The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur. CEB 29 Abishur's wife's name was Abihail, and she gave birth to Ahban and Molid for him. NRS 29 The name of Abishur's wife was Abihail, and she bore him Ahban and Molid. CEB 30 Nadab's family: Seled and Appaim, but Seled died without children. NRS 30 The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim; and Seled died childless. CEB 31 Appaim's family: Ishi. Ishi's family: Sheshan. Sheshan's family: Ahlai. NRS 31 The son of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Ahlai. CEB 32 The family of Jada, Shammai's brother: Jether and Jonathan, but Jether died without children. NRS 32 The sons of Jada, Shammai's brother: Jether and Jonathan; and Jether died childless. CEB 33 Jonathan's family: Peleth and Zaza. These were Jerahmeel's descendants. NRS 33 The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the descendants of Jerahmeel. CEB 34 Sheshan had no sons, only daughters; but Sheshan had an Egyptian servant whose name was Jarha. NRS 34 Now Sheshan had no sons, only daughters; but Sheshan had an Egyptian slave, whose name was Jarha. CEB 35 Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to Jarha his servant, and she gave birth to Attai for him. NRS 35 So Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his slave Jarha; and she bore him Attai. CEB 36 Attai was the father of Nathan, Nathan was the father of Zabad, NRS 36 Attai became the father of Nathan, and Nathan of Zabad. CEB 37 Zabad was the father of Ephlal, Ephlal was the father of Obed, NRS 37 Zabad became the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal of Obed. CEB 38 Obed was the father of Jehu, Jehu was the father of Azariah, NRS 38 Obed became the father of Jehu, and Jehu of Azariah. CEB 39 Azariah was the father of Helez, Helez was the father of Eleasah, NRS 39 Azariah became the father of Helez, and Helez of Eleasah. CEB 40 Eleasah was the father of Sismai, Sismai was the father of Shallum, NRS 40 Eleasah became the father of Sismai, and Sismai of Shallum. CEB 41 Shallum was the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah was the father of Elishama. NRS 41 Shallum became the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah of Elishama. CEB 42 The family of Caleb, Jerahmeel's brother: Mesha his oldest son and Ziph's father; and his second son Mareshah, Hebron's father. NRS 42 The sons of Caleb brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn, who was father of Ziph. The sons of Mareshah father of Hebron. CEB 43 Hebron's family: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema. NRS 43 The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema. CEB 44 Shema was the father of Raham, Jorkeam's father; and Rekem was the father of Shammai. NRS 44 Shema became father of Raham, father of Jorkeam; and Rekem became the father of Shammai. CEB 45 Shammai's son: Maon; Maon was Beth-zur's father. NRS 45 The son of Shammai: Maon; and Maon was the father of Beth-zur. CEB 46 Ephah, Caleb's secondary wife, gave birth to Haran, Moza, and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez. NRS 46 Ephah also, Caleb's concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran became the father of Gazez. CEB 47 Jahdai's family: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph. NRS 47 The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph. CEB 48 Maacah, Caleb's secondary wife, gave birth to Sheber and Tirhanah. NRS 48 Maacah, Caleb's concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah. CEB 49 She also gave birth to Shaaph, Madmannah's father; and to Sheva, Machbenah and Gibea's father. Caleb's daughter was Achsah. NRS 49 She also bore Shaaph father of Madmannah, Sheva father of Machbenah and father of Gibea; and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah. CEB 50 These were Caleb's descendants. The family of Hur, Ephrathah's oldest son: Shobal, Kiriath-jearim's father; NRS 50 These were the descendants of Caleb. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal father of Kiriath-jearim, CEB 51 Salma, Bethlehem's father; and Hareph, Beth-gader's father. NRS 51 Salma father of Bethlehem, and Hareph father of Beth-gader. CEB 52 Shobal, Kiriath-jearim's father, had a family: Haroeh, and the ancestor of half of the Menuhoth. NRS 52 Shobal father of Kiriath-jearim had other sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth. CEB 53 Kiriath-jearim's clans: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites. From these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites. NRS 53 And the families of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; from these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites. CEB 54 The family of Salma, Bethlehem's father: the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, half of the Manahathites, and the Zorites. NRS 54 The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites. CEB 55 The clans of the scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. They were Kenites who descended from Hammath, Beth-rechab's father. NRS 55 The families also of the scribes that lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, father of the house of Rechab.
