1 Peter 2:18-20

NLT 18 You who are slaves must submit to your masters with all respect. Do what they tell you—not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are cruel. NIV 18 Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. NLT 19 For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment. NIV 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. NLT 20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you. NIV 20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.
