1 Samuel 2:1-10

NAS 1 Then Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD ; My horn is exalted in the LORD , My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. NIV 1 Then Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. NAS 2 "There is no one holy like the LORD , Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God. NIV 2 “There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. NAS 3 "Boast no more so very proudly, Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And with Him actions are weighed. NIV 3 “Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed. NAS 4 "The bows of the mighty are shattered, But the feeble gird on strength. NIV 4 “The bows of the warriors are broken, but those who stumbled are armed with strength. NAS 5 "Those who were full hire themselves out for bread, But those who were hungry cease to hunger. Even the barren gives birth to seven, But she who has many children languishes. NIV 5 Those who were full hire themselves out for food, but those who were hungry are hungry no more. She who was barren has borne seven children, but she who has had many sons pines away. NAS 6 "The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up. NIV 6 “The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. NAS 7 "The LORD makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts. NIV 7 The LORD sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts. NAS 8 "He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He set the world on them. NIV 8 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. “For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; on them he has set the world. NAS 9 "He keeps the feet of His godly ones, But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; For not by might shall a man prevail. NIV 9 He will guard the feet of his faithful servants, but the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness. “It is not by strength that one prevails; NAS 10 "Those who contend with the LORD will be shattered; Against them He will thunder in the heavens, The LORD will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn of His anointed." NIV 10 those who oppose the LORD will be broken. The Most High will thunder from heaven; the LORD will judge the ends of the earth. “He will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed.”
