1 De doce años era Manasés cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén cincuenta y cinco años; el nombre de su madre fue Hepsiba.

2 E hizo lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, según las abominaciones de los gentiles que el SEÑOR había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.

3 Porque él volvió a edificar los altos que Ezequías su padre había derribado, y levantó altares a Baal, e hizo bosque, como había hecho Acab rey de Israel; y adoró a todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvió a aquellas cosas.

4 Asimismo edificó altares en la Casa del SEÑOR, de la cual el SEÑOR había dicho: Yo pondré mi nombre en Jerusalén.

5 Y edificó altares para todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la casa del SEÑOR.

6 Y pasó a su hijo por fuego, y miró en tiempos, y fue agorero, e instituyó pitones y adivinos, y multiplicó a hacer lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, para provocarlo a ira.

7 Y puso <I>una</I> entalladura del bosque que él había hecho, en la Casa de la cual había el SEÑOR dicho a David y a Salomón su hijo: <I>Yo</I> pondré mi nombre perpetuamente en esta Casa, y en Jerusalén, a la cual escogí de todas las tribus de Israel;

8 y no volveré a hacer que el pie de Israel sea movido de la tierra que di a sus padres, con tal que guarden y hagan conforme a todas las cosas que <I>yo</I> les he mandado, y conforme a toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les mandó.

9 Mas ellos no escucharon; y Manasés los hizo errar a que hiciesen más mal que los gentiles que el SEÑOR rayó de delante de los hijos de Israel.

10 Y habló el SEÑOR por mano de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo:

11 Por cuanto Manasés rey de Judá ha hecho estas abominaciones, y ha hecho más mal que todo lo que hicieron los amorreos que <I>fueron</I> antes de él, y también ha hecho pecar a Judá en sus inmundicias;

12 Por tanto, así dice el SEÑOR Dios de Israel: He aquí yo traigo tal mal sobre Jerusalén y sobre Judá, que el que lo oyere, le retiñirán ambos oídos.

13 Y extenderé sobre Jerusalén el cordel de Samaria, y el plomo de la casa de Acab; y <I>yo</I> limpiaré a Jerusalén como se limpia un vaso, que después que lo han limpiado, lo vuelven sobre su faz.

14 Y desampararé las reliquias de mi heredad, y las entregaré en manos de sus enemigos; y serán para presa y para despojo a todos sus adversarios;

15 por cuanto han hecho lo malo en mis ojos, y me han provocado a ira, desde el día que sus padres salieron de Egipto hasta hoy.

16 Fuera de esto, derramó Manasés mucha sangre inocente en gran manera, hasta llenar a Jerusalén de extremo a extremo, además de su pecado con que hizo pecar a Judá, para que hiciese lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR.

17 Lo demás de los hechos de Manasés, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su pecado que cometió, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

18 Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fue sepultado en el huerto de su casa, en el huerto de Uza; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.

19 De veintidós años era Amón cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre <I>fue</I> Mesulemet hija de Haruz de Jotba.

20 E hizo lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, como había hecho Manasés su padre.

21 Y anduvo en todos los caminos en que su padre anduvo, y sirvió a las inmundicias a las cuales había servido su padre, y a ellas adoró;

22 y dejó al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino del SEÑOR.

23 Y los siervos de Amón conspiraron contra él, y mataron al rey en su casa.

24 <I>Entonces</I> el pueblo de la tierra hirió a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y puso el pueblo de la tierra por rey en su lugar a Josías su hijo.

25 Lo demás de los hechos de Amón, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

26 Y fue sepultado en su sepulcro en el huerto de Uza, y reinó en su lugar Josías su hijo.

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.

2 He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.

3 He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them.

4 He built altars in the temple of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, “In Jerusalem I will put my Name.”

5 In the two courts of the temple of the LORD, he built altars to all the starry hosts.

6 He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced divination, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, arousing his anger.

7 He took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and to his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever.

8 I will not again make the feet of the Israelites wander from the land I gave their ancestors, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them and will keep the whole Law that my servant Moses gave them.”

9 But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites.

10 The LORD said through his servants the prophets:

11 “Manasseh king of Judah has committed these detestable sins. He has done more evil than the Amorites who preceded him and has led Judah into sin with his idols.

12 Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.

13 I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

14 I will forsake the remnant of my inheritance and give them into the hands of enemies. They will be looted and plundered by all their enemies;

15 they have done evil in my eyes and have aroused my anger from the day their ancestors came out of Egypt until this day.”

16 Moreover, Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end—besides the sin that he had caused Judah to commit, so that they did evil in the eyes of the LORD.

17 As for the other events of Manasseh’s reign, and all he did, including the sin he committed, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?

18 Manasseh rested with his ancestors and was buried in his palace garden, the garden of Uzza. And Amon his son succeeded him as king.

19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah.

20 He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, as his father Manasseh had done.

21 He followed completely the ways of his father, worshiping the idols his father had worshiped, and bowing down to them.

22 He forsook the LORD, the God of his ancestors, and did not walk in obedience to him.

23 Amon’s officials conspired against him and assassinated the king in his palace.

24 Then the people of the land killed all who had plotted against King Amon, and they made Josiah his son king in his place.

25 As for the other events of Amon’s reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?

26 He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. And Josiah his son succeeded him as king.
